the rules
The road has twelve shrines, all drawn by the contract and on chain before the first one opens. The hour the token goes live, shrine I opens for one day; then shrine II for the next day, and so on to shrine XII. A shrine is only ever open on its own day.
walking
- Set out and you get a passport, stamped at today's shrine.
- Each day, stamp the shrine that is open. A passport can only be stamped if it was stamped at the shrine before, the day before.
- Miss a day and the road closes behind that passport. It keeps its stamps, but it can never walk on.
- You can set out as late as shrine VI — the late road — but never later.
- Passports are tokens. Give one or sell one, and whoever holds it walks it.
the price
- A stamp costs 2,000 $PILGRI on an empty road. Each shrine's price is 2,000 × 100 / (100 + the pilgrims stamped the day before): a crowded road is cheaper for everyone on it.
- Half of every stamp is burned. Half goes into the purse.
the end of the road
- Stamp shrine XII and your passport is finished, engraved with its rank — the order it reached the sanctuary.
- When the road closes after day twelve, the purse is shared by every finished passport, by the number of stamps on it. A whole-road passport has 12 stamps; a late-road passport fewer. Everyone who fell on the way paid for those who didn't.
- Anybody can trigger a payout; it always goes to the passport's holder. If nobody finishes, the purse is burned.
what the contract cannot do
Hold ETH, move the calendar, stamp a missed day, pay anybody but finished passports, take a royalty, pause, or upgrade. The owner key names the token once and is inert forever after.
No randomness anywhere: every price and every date is arithmetic on the chain's own clock.
